PROFESSIONAL MENTORSHIP PROGRAM (PMP):
Professional Education Competence (PEC) Program for Teachers with Temporary Teaching Certificates.
Teachers with Temporary Teaching Certificate issued in the State of Florida may require the teacher to complete an approved PEC Program. The Diocese of Venice Catholic Schools offers an approved program, the PMP.
This requirement would be found on the teacher's statement of eligibility upon the receipt of the temporary teaching certificate. Teachers have up to the time the temporary certificate expires (3 years from being issued) to complete the PMP program.
It Is the teacher's responsibility to complete the requirements necessary to obtain the professional teaching license. Teachers with temporary licenses are generally the ones who will need to complete the PMP as a requirement towards obtaining their professional license.
Please indicate any teachers currently working towards the completion of the PMP in the Padlet below:
Clinical Education and Student Interns
Student teachers at the University/Collegiate level needing internship teaching experience can participate at the Diocese of Venice Catholic Schools. All student internship opportunities must go through the Department of Education before any placement can take place. Student interns must be placed with a Certified Clinical Educator, and Clinical Educator Certification Training (CET) is offered by the Diocese of Venice Department of Education Annually. Student Interns are treated as volunteers and will go through the volunteer procedures of being fingerprinted and safe environment. If a college or university reaches out to you for placement, please respond and copy [email protected] to redirect the University supervisors to the Department of Education to get the process started.
Please indicate any student internship placements taking place now or are scheduled to take place during this academic year in the Padlet below:
