Mrs. Jones Example : High School Science teacher "Mrs. Jones" teaches Chemistry Honors (28 students), Chemistry (30 students), AP Chemistry (10 students), and Forensics (15 students). For this exercise, Mrs. Jones can select any section and accompanying set of students to use for this exercise.
  • In the attached example, Mrs. Jones has chosen to analyze the 30 students in her general chemistry class.
    • Mrs. Jones then identifies various data sets to determine which students may need small group support (Tier II)in: academics, behavior, and social emotional wellbeing.
      • Test data, class attendance, teacher observation notes, email correspondence, personal conversations etc. can all be considered as "data" to help determine if a student is in need of academic, behavioral or social emotional support
    • Mrs. Jones also identifies various data sets that can be used to identify students needing more intensive individualized support (Tier III) in the areas of academics, behavior/participation, and or social-emotional wellbeing, and may need to be referred to the school counseling department and or student support team.
